Writing a story might seem really intimidating if you’ve never written something long form. However, stories can be written in an extremely short amount of words. This is commonly called Flash Fiction!
Here you have two choices, choose one of the following:
CHOICE A: Write a complete story in just 300 words. This can be useful if you’re used to writing short poems and are not very comfortable diving headfirst into writing fiction or creative nonfiction.
or
CHOICE B: Think of writing a tweet or a text. You’ll be limited to 120 characters per sentence. This way you can write your story to be as long as you want it to be; however, this does offer you a limitation that will challenge you.
Writing Prompt: Write about someone taking something that they shouldn’t take.
As for an example of character count lines, here is my own:
“We have to get moving, now!” he shouted, his voice echoing off the wet walls. (78 characters)
He grabbed his sister’s arm and started running, dragging her dead weight behind them as they ran through the tunnels. (118 characters)
“Wait!” she cried, pulling herself from his grasp. (50 characters)
