How brave are you?
A brave space invites students to fully express their race, sex, gender, abilities, immigration status or lived experiences even if it means it may make others uncomfortable. The purpose is to encourage dialogue, recognize differences, and hold each other accountable so we may reach new knowledge and understanding as a society.
3, 2, 1, Action!
In this Brave Space Monologue Activity, you will use your voice to bring awareness to a problem or issue that has affected you, a friend, your family or the community. You will conduct research on the topic and then write an original monologue based on your findings. Be creative! Once you finish your piece, you will rehearse it several times before you’re ready to hit the big screen (Tip: ask to perform it in front of a friend or family member!) Then when you’re ready, have someone record you performing your Brave Space Monologue!
